Description |
The Family, Youth, and Community (FYC) Program at Crossroads College prepares students for practical ministry in social service and family life education roles both within faith communities and within other educational and service-oriented organizations found in various community contexts.
The coursework affords all FYC majors with the opportunity to pursue four optional concentrations:
Ministry (Youth, Family, Children's, Community, or General)
Educational Leadership
Human Resources Development & Non-Profit Management
Choice (affords opportunity to pursue minors in music, business, sports management, etc.)
Various career options are available to students due to the holistic nature of the program. Students are broadly prepared for service and ministry with children, youth, and families in a variety of different contexts, yet also afforded the flexibility to focus on specific interests.
Service learning is a high priority in the FYC program. This allows students to work in a variety of local settings in churches and with our friends and community partners.
The faculty reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the FYC major. Depending on students' chosen concentration, students will face full time faculty and adjunct practitioners with experience in youth and family ministry, education, sociology, business and finance, counseling psychology, pastoral ministry, human resources, and family social services. Dr. Michael Jerpbak is the faculty advisor for the program. If you have questions or would like further information, feel free to contact him directly: |
