Description |
A study of Luke's Gospel in the Greek text including Greek translation and exegesis of selected passages which are examples of different literary forms: historical narrative in a Synoptic Gospel, parable, apocalyptic discourse, and use of the Old Testament in the New. Attention will be given to Luke's distinctive message of Jesus' person and saving mission in salvation historical and universal perspective, Jesus' concern for the marginalized and his call for radical discipleship and its implications for the Christian and the church in its worldwide mission today. Prerequisite: GRE 6210. |
