Description |
This degree is designed to prepare students for membership in the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education (CAPPE).
Specific Goals of the Program:
• Individuals are able to accurately interpret the meaning and significance of the biblical text using the English Bible.
• Individuals possess a competent understanding of the work of spiritual care in the context of multicultural and multi-faith settings, recognizing the opportunities and challenges of institutional ministry, and linking theories, principles, and concepts to the practice of ministry.
• Individuals engage in and maintain spiritual care relationships: assessing needs; conceptualizing and implementing appropriate responses to the needs of individuals, couples, and families; modifying interventions as needed; evaluating progress, change, and/or the need to refer to other community supports; and, demonstrating skill in mentoring others, administration, leadership, and communication. |
