Description In Deuteronomy 4:29 God commands the Israelites to seek Him earnestly and whole-heartedly in the same way we, as followers of Christ, are commanded to follow God with complete commitment and total involvement. The Advanced Biblical Studies Major seeks to do that which God has clearly commanded in Deuteronomy, to purposefully seek God and the infinite wisdom provided in His Word. This major is intended for students who are interested in teaching Biblical theology, in Bible translation, and forming a Biblical foundation for teaching in the local church or who plan on attending seminary after completing their course requirements at Great Lakes. Graduates completing this degree will be able to: Write quality lessons and sermons for local church ministry; Communicate God’s Word effectively in large and small group settings; Translate Scripture from at least one of the Biblical languages into English; and Use advanced biblical language resources for both Greek and Hebrew.
