Description At Hope the Communication major provides a myriad of academic programs to choose from. The program is offered in conjunction with California State University, Fullerton, which is located right across the street from Hope. In this program, students take a blend of coursework from each university, resulting in a broad educational experience. The program also includes a liberal arts curriculum that focuses on oral and written communication, leadership, critical thinking, and Biblical studies. Students may select from any concentration listed below: Human Communication Studies focuses primarily on the various aspects of oral communication. Students study such topics as communication barriers and competencies, communication between individuals or within organizations, and across cultures. Communications focuses on the study of mass media in the fields of public relations, advertising, and journalism The area of Communication Disorders covers the study of physical issues that prevent individuals from communicating effectively. The program prepares one for work as a clinician. The Radio-TV-Film program trains students for careers in one of the most significant industries in Southern California. The B.A. in Liberal Arts: Communication program is 122 units.
