Description At Hope, the Associate Ministry major prepares students to serve under a Senior Pastor in a supportive capacity. Balanced between theory and practice, our students learn how to create programs that challenge church members to spiritual growth. Practical skills are emphasized, such as budget management, personnel and facilities management, and the creation and oversight of ministry teams. Coupled with a Bible-based curriculum, this program teaches students to appreciate cultural, technological, psychosocial, and developmental trends that will affect their work regardless of their setting. Graduates will have a solid foundation for ministry in the local church, para-church ministries, as well as preparation for graduate studies in a variety of theological and ministry related fields. The B.A. in Associate Ministry program is 126 units. Career Opportunities Associate Pastor Bible teacher/professor Para-church leadership Family Pastor Interesting Courses Homiletics (preaching) Creative Teaching and Curriculum Development Care and Counseling in Youth Ministry Ministry to Children Real World Opportunities Students in the Associate Ministry major are required to do a minimum of three semesters of internship in a local ministry setting. Additionally, students are encouraged to be involved in ministry during their degree program to help facilitate real life application.
